Mr. James B. Bighems

Mr. James Bernard Bighems, age 96, of Dothan, Alabama went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at the Chipola Health and Rehabilitation Center in Marianna, Florida.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Fannie L. Cotton Bighems and Emanuel Bighems; his wife, Ida Elizabeth Gamble Bighems; his grandparents: Rachel Knight Walker and Joseph L. Cotton; and his siblings: John Bighems, Curtis C. Bighems and Joe Nathan Brown, Mary C. Brown and Irene V. Smith.

He leaves to mourn his passing: James Michael Bighem, Sr. (Sylvia), Marvin Brown (Dorothy), Delana (Cookie) Haynes, Felix Bighem (Quintonia), Lori Bighems, and Elisha Donnell (Nate); a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Public visitation will be 3:30-5:00 PM, Sunday, September 14, 2025, in the M. Sue and Rodney D. Pittman Memorial Chapel, 5441 Cooper Street, Graceville, Florida.

A celebration of life will commence at 10 AM, Monday, September 15, 2025 at Gates of Heaven Cemetery, 2106 Starling Road, Dothan, Alabama under the directions of Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville, Florida.
