Dennis Clayton Love

Dennis's early years were spent in the heart of Michigan, but his adventurous spirit led him to serve his country in the Army immediately after high school, a commitment he honored until 1962. His return to civilian life was marked by a momentous occasion when he married his soulmate, Nancy Jane Love, in 1973. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and the sweet sounds of music.

A talented pianist, Dennis’s love of music started at the early age of 5.  He shared his passion for music throughout his life, bringing joy to countless listeners and creating memories that would resonate for a lifetime. His love for entertaining was evident in every note he played and every smile he brought to his audience. But his creativity was not limited to the piano keys. Dennis was also a skilled craftsman, making furniture and refurbishing houses.

Dennis's green thumb was as impressive as his musical talent. He found solace and satisfaction in the art of hydroponic gardening, nurturing plants with the same care and attention he devoted to every aspect of his life.

After moving to the Jackson County and Bainbridge, GA/Chattahoochee area in 2010, Dennis continued to cultivate a community of friends and loved ones who will forever carry on his memory. He leaves behind a legacy of warmth and kindness that will continue to inspire those who knew him.

Dennis is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Nancy Jane Love; his daughters, Pamela Star Love and Colleen Love Kielton; his four grandsons, Dennis, Benjamin, Joseph, and Carl and his beloved dog, Jane. Though he was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Lynette DeMonte; and his son, Kerry Winfield Love, the family finds comfort in knowing that Dennis is now reunited with his loved ones who passed before him.

The memory of Dennis Clayton Love will be cherished and kept alive through the stories shared, the music played, and the gardens tended. His was a life that exemplified the beauty of giving, the joy of creating, and the power of an enduring love. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

In lieu of flowers, Dennis’s family asks that you consider a contribution to St. Jude Children’s Hospital at ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105 or directly on their website at https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate

A memorial gathering and time of reflection for family and friends will be held on Monday, July 7, 2025 from 10:00AM until 2:00 PM Central Time at Everything Country in Sneads, FL.  Interment will take place on a later date in Michigan.
