Willie Mae Goold

Willie Mae Goold, lovingly known as Willie Mae, was born on March 24, 1934, in Sneads, Florida, and passed away on July 12, 2026, in Marianna, Florida.

Willie Mae was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Marianna, Florida. She was known as loving, friendly, and generous, and those qualities were reflected in the way she cared for her family, friends, and neighbors.

She was a graduate of Sneads High School and later attended Lively Voc Tech in Tallahassee, Florida.  Willie Mae started her career at Seaboard Finance in Marianna, Florida. She soon became a mother and full-time homemaker. She later worked at Citizens State Bank, and the Jackson County Clerk of Court Office in Marianna, Florida. Through each of these roles, she was respected for her dependable nature, her pleasant manner, and her willingness to help others.

Family was the center of Willie Mae’s life, and she treasured every moment spent with those she loved. She was preceded in death by her parents, G.D. and Lucille Maloy, her brother Robert Dyes, and her sister Wilma Whittington. She is survived by her husband, Ronald Goold; her children Kay Land, and husband Al Land; Allen Welch, and wife Kim Welch; her grandchildren, John Land, James Land, Cheyene Hartzog, and Dylan Johnson; and her great-grandchildren, Cholton Hartzog, Aryia Hartzog, Stephen Johnson, Harley Johnson, and J.D. Johnson. She loved her family deeply and found great joy in being surrounded by them. Her presence was a source of comfort, encouragement, and strength, and her memory will remain a treasured blessing to all who knew her.

Willie Mae also enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. She loved antiquing, decorating her home, and spending time with family and friends. She had a special gift for making a house feel warm and welcoming, and she took pride in creating a home filled with beauty, care, and love.

She faced life with a kind heart and a steady spirit, and she leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.  Her loved ones take comfort in the promise of eternal life and the hope found in Christ. They remember her with gratitude for the many ways she blessed their lives and for the example she set through her words and actions.

Willie Mae Goold will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered. Her life was a beautiful reflection of Christian love, family devotion, and quiet strength. May she rest in peace, and may her memory continue to be a source of comfort and inspiration to all who were privileged to know her.

A celebration of life service will be held in the chapel of McAlpin Funeral Home on Saturday, July, 18, 2026, at 2:00 PM Central time.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
