Russell L. Barkley age 58 of Campbellton, FL (the Stateline Community), passed away Thursday June 18, 2026.
A memorial service will be held from 11 am to 12 pm on Saturday June 27, 2026, at the Shira, Sr. and Chelcie McKinnie Memorial Chapel located at 5304 Bowden Hill Road Campbellton, FL. A public viewing for family and friends will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday June 26. Memorialization will be by cremation with McKinnie Funeral Home of Campbellton in charge of arrangements.
Today we honor and remember the life of Russell Lamar Barkley, a beloved son, brother, father, family member, and friend whose presence touched the lives of many.
Russell Lamont Barkley was born to the late Joseph Davis and Willa Dean Barkley in Dothan, AL on February 4, 1968.
Russell's journey on earth was marked by moments of laughter, love, strength, and perseverance. Though no life is without challenges, those who knew him will remember the unique impact he made, the memories he created, and the love he shared in his own way.
His passing leaves a space that can never truly be filled. The sound of his voice, his smile, his personality, and the moments spent together will forever remain treasured in the hearts of those who loved him.
While our hearts grieve the loss of his physical presence, we find comfort in knowing that pain, suffering, and earthly burdens are no longer his portion. We trust that he now rests in peace and that the love he leaves behind will continue to live through the family and friends who carry his memory forward.
Russell's legacy is not measured simply by the years he lived, but by the lives he touched and the memories he leaves behind.
Though we say goodbye for now, we hold tightly to the hope that love never dies and memories never fade.

He was preceded in death by his father: Joseph Davis, sister: Nikki Barkley Jones and grandfather: Moses Barkley, Sr.
He’s survived by his daughter: Jayce (Zhamir) Johnson, son: Bernard Russell Barkley; siblings: Cozette Mckinnie, Matthew McKinnie, Jr., Gary (Valinda) Davis, Mary Davis and Stacey (Cedric) Edwards and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
