Selma was born July, 31 1945 in Jackson County, FL (Town of Campbellton). He was the first of five siblings born to the late John Andrew Daniels and the late Addie Mae Speights Daniels-Hughes.
He was a member of New Bethel C. M. E. Church since age 16. During his 64 years of service he served on numerous boards which included the auxiliary, the steward and the usher (where he served for over 50 years).
He married his High School sweetheart and to this union Christopher and Scotty were born.
He was educated at St. Paul High School located in Campbellton, FL. Always a hard worker and family oriented; he left school and entered the work force to help support his mother and siblings.
His first job was being hired out as a day worker for various industries to include Farming, Cloverdale Chicken Farm, Gold Kist Peanut Mill, Charles Manufacturing and eventually Hayes Aircraft/Pemco World Air located in Dothan, AL. He started his career as a helicopter mechanic in March 1967. During his career he serviced Commercial Jumbo Fleets and Jets, Military Fleets and numerous others. Through the years he received numerous certificates of excellence and notable recognitions. In April of 2012 after 45 years of service he retired as lead Mechanic.
He was very blessed to have traveled and worked abroad many times. While in Egypt he resided across the street from the Nile River. He visited the Red Sea and the most adventure was riding a camel that would kneel down for him to get on. In Paris France bitter sweet with being there when the final flight of Concorde Air France Flight 4590 crashed (now that was a bad day) all he could do was look on. In London England, when a bomb went off in a garbage can that was taken off the plane he was in (the stuff you see and hear about in the news).
His hobbies included farming, tending his cows (a costly dream of him/us) but he enjoyed it.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two siblings: Mance Andrew Daniels & Equilla Daniels Bingham.
Selma departed this earthly life on March 23, 2026. He leaves a legacy of love with his wife: Christine McKinnie Daniels of Campbellton, FL; two sons: Christopher Daniels (Yolanda) of Tampa, FL and Scotty Daniels (Maria) of Jacksonville, FL; two siblings: Connie Bowden and Shirley Blackmon both of Campbellton, FL; four grandchildren: Dominique (Gianna), Dimitrius (Tatiana), Chloe and Lola; one great-grandchild: D’Mari; four special ladies: Roslyn, Vickie, Andrea and Tamika; and a host of other relatives.
