Kathryn “Kat” Johnson, who was born on May 23, 1947, and passed away on April 4, 2026, in Graceville, Florida, lived a life marked by kindness, faith, and a steady devotion to the people around her. She was the kind of woman whose presence could lift a room, whose smile could ease a burden, and whose words often carried the comfort and encouragement others needed most. Friendly, thoughtful, and loving, she moved through life with a spirit that reflected both strength and grace, and she left behind a legacy that will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
Her faith as a Christian was an important part of who she was and how she lived. It gave her strength in difficult seasons, hope in uncertain moments, and peace that carried her through life’s many changes. She trusted God, leaned on her beliefs, and walked with a sense of purpose that encouraged others to do the same. Her life spoke to the power of faith lived out in everyday actions, and her example will continue to speak long after her earthly journey has ended.
Kat was preceded in death by her mother, Mittie B. Thompson Roberts, and by her siblings, MSG (Ret.) Edward Johnson, Tyrone Johnson, Julia Mae Lawrence, Josh Smith, Terry Roberts, and Len Roberts. Though she experienced the sorrow of loss, she remained a woman who understood the value of family, memory, and enduring love. The bonds she shared with those who went before her were part of the story that shaped her, and their influence remained with her throughout her life.

To those who knew her best, Kat was more than a name and more than a presence. She was a source of encouragement, a keeper of family connection, and a living example of what it means to care deeply and love faithfully. Her legacy is not only in the years she lived, but in the hearts she touched and the lives she helped shape.
As we remember Kathryn “Kat” Johnson, let us do so with gratitude and with purpose. Let her life remind us to be kinder, to love more openly, to speak words that heal, and to live with faith that stands firm through every season. She showed that a life rooted in compassion can leave a lasting mark, and that a loving spirit can continue to inspire even after it has gone home. Kat’s journey on earth has ended, but the light she shared remains, and it will continue to shine in the memories, lessons, and love she leaves behind.
