Breanna Booker Named July Employee of the Month
By Shelia Mader
The Jackson County Board of County Commissioners proudly recognized Breanna Booker as the Employee of the Month for July 2025 during their recent meeting. Human Resources Director Sarah Sun made the presentation, highlighting Booker’s dedication, innovation, and positive attitude.
Booker began her service with the county on June 12, 2023, and currently serves as a Permit Technician for the Building Department. In her time with the county, she has quickly become known for going above and beyond in her role, displaying professionalism, dependability, and a strong work ethic.
“Breanna is hard working, dedicated, and a knowledgeable employee,” said Sun as she read the official proclamation. “She strives for excellence every day and takes pride in being punctual and reliable. She is affable and pleasant and maintains a good rapport with contractors and homeowners alike.”
One of Booker’s notable recent achievements was the development of a tracking tool that cross-references temporary RV allowances with building permitting timelines. This tool helps monitor status updates and keep property owners informed of upcoming deadlines, demonstrating her initiative and commitment to improving county services.
Booker also played a key leadership role during a recent employee station relocation, helping coordinate efforts to clean out, pack, and move offices that had remained in place for nearly a decade.
“Breanna is a pleasant and cooperative coworker and employee,” the proclamation concluded. “Thank you, Breanna, for your dedication to community development and to the citizens we serve.”
The Board unanimously approved the recognition and awarded Booker with a proclamation and a $200 check. Congratulations to Breanna Booker on this well-earned honor.
