Darlings round up
The season has come to an end and all-stars have been chosen. The last weeks were full of excitement and anxiety with every team and every player trying to showcase their best skills and pick up those last few wins. The Darlings were no exception to playing with heart and soul through the very last game.
Obert B takes win over Bomb Squad
The Obert B Darlings’ team was ready and waiting when the Bomb Squad came calling on May 5. It was a 5-1 first inning that set the tone for the Obert team to take the 16-2 win. Obert’s team added two runs in the second, four in the third and five in the fifth with the Bomb Squad posting goose eggs on the scoreboard. They did not lay down however, as they posted a run in the fifth inning.
For the Bomb Squad, it was Skyy Cook leading the way with a hit and a run scored, followed by Halle Blank and Saige Smith each with a hit and a run scored. Makinlee Edwards and Austin Harley were on board each with a hit.
The Obert team was led by Ellie Braxton and Khrisalyn Dawson with each racking up four RBIs, three hits, and three runs scored, followed by Ella Obert with four RBIs, three hits, and two runs scored. Kennedy Parrish added three RBIs, two hits, and a run scored, while Sara Kernoshack had a hit, a run scored, and an RBI, with Ayla Christmas on board with three hits and three runs scored. Halle Daniels recorded two hits and scored two runs, while Ariah Russ had two hits and one run scored, with Journey Burnette adding a hit to round out the scoring.
Graceville Darlings win 6-2 over Bonifay
The Graceville Darlings jumpstarted their game against Bonifay with a 3-0 lead in the first inning. They added another three in the third inning and held Bonifay scoreless until the fifth inning when they posted two runs to remove the goose egg.
Graceville was led by Harmoni Myrick and Za’kiya Smith with two hits, two runs scored, and two RBIs, followed by Emiya Davis with two hits and an RBI, while Emily Yates had a hit and an RBI. On board with a pair of hits and a run scored was Emerie Davis, while Isabelle Hagy recorded a hit and a run scored, with Grace Messer and Makenna Bradley both recording a hit.
