Sneads Baseball Is 10-1 And Looking For More

The Sneads Pirates varsity baseball team kept its hot streak rolling this week, picking up four more wins and stretching its current run to nine straight victories after dropping the season’s second game. Sneads opened the week Monday with a 13–6 road win over North Bay Haven, followed with a 10–3 victory at Rickards on Tuesday, dominated Munroe 18–1 on Thursday, and wrapped up the stretch Friday with a 5–1 win over Blountstown.
Sneads opened the week strong with an offensive surge in the 13–6 win over North Bay Haven. The Pirates pounded out 11 hits in the game. Creed Whitworth drove in three runs, while John Loftus finished with two hits, a run scored and an RBI. J.J. Harrell also collected two hits, scored a run and drove in one. Khalil Garrett and Kinsey Ragans each scored twice, with Garrett adding a hit and Ragans recording a hit as well. Bly Sprague added an RBI single and Alex Gaines scored twice and drove in a run. Griffin Pickron drove in two runs and Traivon Danzey added a hit and scored once. On the mound, Harrell picked up the win after working three innings and allowing just one run while striking out two. Hoke Harkrider pitched four innings in relief and recorded four strikeouts.
The Pirates kept the momentum going Tuesday with a 10–3 win over Rickards. Garrett had the big night at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBIs to lead the offense. Danzey added two hits and scored twice, while Loftus and Pickron each had a hit and an RBI. Connor McSpaddin and Whitworth both added hits, and Harrell scored once after reaching base. Harkrider crossed the plate three times in the game. Dylan Chester earned the win on the mound, throwing 3 2/3 innings while allowing just one run and striking out six. McSpaddin followed with 2 1/3 innings and six strikeouts, and Ragans closed out the game with a scoreless inning.
Sneads erupted for its biggest offensive performance of the week Thursday, overwhelming Munroe 18–1. Loftus had a monster day at the plate with two hits, including a home run and a triple, driving in six runs and scoring twice. Whitworth drove in three runs, while Danzey added a hit, scored a run and collected two RBIs. Pickron scored twice and drove in a run, and Harrell added a hit, two runs and an RBI. Garrett scored three runs and drove in one, while Gaines and Creed Whitworth also crossed the plate. On the mound, Loftus struck out three over two innings, and Ragans tossed two innings with two strikeouts as the Pirates held Munroe to just two hits.
The week concluded Friday with a strong pitching performance in a 5–1 win over Blountstown. Sneads managed five runs on seven hits, led by Pickron, who had two hits and drove in two runs. Loftus added a hit and an RBI, while Garrett recorded a hit and drove in a run. Gaines scored twice and Ragans added another run for the Pirates. Whitworth was dominant on the mound, earning the win after pitching 5 2/3 innings, allowing just one run while striking out six. Pickron closed the game by striking out four over the final 1 1/3 innings.
With contributions up and down the lineup and strong pitching throughout the week, Sneads continues to build momentum early in the season as the Pirates look to keep their winning streak alive.
