Sneads AAA Claims District Title – State Bound

It took just three games for the Sneads AAA Pirates to claim a district title and begin preparations for a State title. They will report to the State Tournament June 25 in Frostproof.

Marianna vs. Sneads (June 8)

Sneads opened District AAA All-Star play in dominant fashion, rolling past Marianna 13-3 in four innings. Sneads scored 10 runs in the first inning and never looked back, finishing with 13 runs on six hits while drawing 13 walks. Brett Goodwin led the offense with a home run, two hits and a game-high six RBIs. Kylar Jenkins scored twice and drove in two runs, while Carson Myrick added a hit and two RBIs. Gunnar Adams, Colton Hill and Rylann Harrison each contributed an RBI. On the bases, Sneads swiped 11 stolen bases, led by Jenkins with three. Marianna collected seven hits in the loss, with Hudson Lyons going 2-for-2 and Raylen Groomes adding a pair of doubles. Jace Pridgen and Teamon Leavins each drove in a run. For Sneads, Colton Hill started on the mound with four strikeouts over two innings before Jacoby Locke earned the win in relief, allowing one earned run while striking out three over 1.2 innings.

Liberty County vs. Sneads (June 9)

Sneads edged Liberty County 4-3 in a tightly contested district matchup behind timely hitting and strong pitching. Jacoby Locke delivered the biggest blow at the plate, finishing with a home run, a double and two RBIs. Kylar Jenkins added a hit and drove in a run, while Colton Hill and Gunnar Adams also recorded hits. Sneads manufactured offense with nine walks and aggressive baserunning, stealing multiple bases throughout the game. On the mound, Coletin Johnson struck out four and allowed just one run over 2.1 innings before Locke took over and earned the victory, striking out seven while limiting Liberty County to two runs over the final 3.2 innings. The win moved Sneads one step closer to the district championship.

Sneads vs. Liberty County District Championship (June 11)

Sneads captured the District AAA All-Star championship with a 6-3 victory over Liberty County, earning a berth in the state tournament in Frostproof beginning with opening ceremonies on June 25. Gunnar Adams paced the offense, going 2-for-2 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Braylon Bailey also had a big day, collecting two hits and scoring twice, while Kylar Jenkins added a hit and two RBIs. Carson Myrick chipped in an RBI single and Colton Hill scored a run. Sneads totaled eight hits and five RBIs while continuing its aggressive style on the bases with 10 stolen bases. Coletin Johnson turned in a strong start, allowing two runs and striking out five over four innings. After a brief Liberty County rally, Colton Hill slammed the door in relief, striking out three over the final 1.2 innings to secure the district title. Sneads finished district play undefeated and will now represent District AAA at the state tournament in Frostproof.
