Playing in the state tournament in Wewahitchka, the Belles battled through three games unbeaten to claim the state championship, earning a coveted berth in the Dixie Softball World Series. The elite group, many of whom have spent years playing together while collecting district, state and even World Series championships throughout their careers, will now represent Florida when the World Series begins July 24 in Odessa, with West Pasco serving as host.

Sneads captured the Dixie Youth Ozone championship in impressive fashion, going 3-0 during the tournament and outscoring opponents 29-5 on the way to the title.

The Cottondale Ozone All-Stars punched their ticket to the state tournament in Frostproof after a dominant run through district play, finishing the tournament undefeated with two wins and a tie.

It took just three games for the Sneads AAA Pirates to claim a district title and begin preparations for a State title. They will report to the State Tournament June 25 in Frostproof.

The Jackson County AAA All-Star District Championship featured a pair of high-scoring battles between county rivals Graceville and Cottondale, with Graceville ultimately capturing the title by sweeping the best-of-three series in two games.

Marianna High School’s Brain Bowl A team brought home the state championship last week, finishing a perfect 10-0 and winning every match decisively on the way to the title.
