On the mound, Sneads relied on a deep pitching staff. Varieur was dominant, throwing a complete-game championship victory while allowing just one earned run over six innings and striking out four. He also worked 3 1/3 scoreless innings in the opening-round win over LC Ozone, finishing the tournament with 9 1/3 innings pitched, only one earned run allowed and eight strikeouts. Sneads will now turn their attention to a run at the state title that begins June 25 in Frostproof.
