Henry Lamar Curry
Henry Lamar Curry
It’s with a heavy heart that we share our beloved, Henry Lamar Curry, was called home on November 21, 2025, in Atlanta, GA at the age of 47.
Henry was born on March 26, 1978, and from the moment he arrived, he blessed our family with a light, a voice, a laugh, and a presence that we all grew to depend on. If you knew him, you knew laughing. You knew cutting up. You knew turning up. And you definitely knew unwavering dependability and that feeling of, “he's got my back.”
Our beloved could bake a red velvet cake so good it’d blush. He could sing notes that would make Jennifer Hudson raise an eyebrow. He was the kind of son every mother dreams of...respectful, loyal, and always looking out for his family. His favorite words to Momma were, "Yes, ma'am," "I got it," and "Justin did it"… even in adulthood. That was him — funny, loving, and a touch of a snitchy spirit (when it came to me).
He leaves behind countless family members, friends, coworkers, and people whose lives he touched in big and small ways, to include his mother, Martha Calhoun Curry; brother, Elliott Curry (Quiana) of McDonough, GA; sister, Brittany Curry of Marianna, FL; nieces and nphews, Luke Curry, Ella Curry and Kameron Curry; and a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives and dear friends.
And while losing him has shattered our hearts, we hold onto the peace of knowing he is finally resting, surrounded by love. If you ever prayed for him, laughed with him, danced with him, worked beside him, argued and made up with him, or simply loved him: thank you. Every moment mattered. Every connection mattered.
A public viewing will be Friday, November 28th from 3-6 at Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church. A service celebrating Lamar’s life will be Saturday, November 29th at 12 noon at Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Dwight Cockerham Sr., Reverend Travis Ephriam, Reverend Nickalus Curry officiating. Memorialization will be by cremation. All arrangements have been entrusted to the caring staff of licensed professionals at Peoples Funeral Home of Marianna.
