Mother Beulah Mae Blakely, affectionately known as Mother Blakely, was a beacon of love and wisdom whose faith-filled presence uplifted everyone she encountered. Born on November 13, 1924, in Campbellton, Florida, to the union of Flavis and Susie Mae Curry Lewis, she grew into a woman of formidable strength and compassion. On October 23, 2025, at the age of 100, Mother Blakely peacefully passed away in Tallahassee, Florida, leaving behind a legacy of unwavering faith and boundless love.
Throughout her century on this earth, Mother Blakely's life was a testament to the power of devotion—devotion to family, to community, and to God. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents and her cherished child, Willie J. Grace. Her spirit lives on through her loving and devoted grandchildren: Rexford (Beruyah) Grace of Jacksonville, Florida; Gregory Grace of Fayetteville, Georgia; Toddrick (Airmelia) Grace, Sr., of Tallahassee, Florida; Joyce Grace of Orange Park, Florida; Rodney Grace of Wichita, Kansas; and Travis (Kambrea) Grace of Tallahassee, Florida. Her lineage, a testament to her love, includes twenty-three great-grandchildren and forty great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were touched by her nurturing spirit.
Mother Blakely's heart extended beyond her immediate family to her two devoted nieces, Yolanda Godwin and Cassandra Goodwin of Cottonwood, Alabama, and to the countless lives she enriched within her extended family and community.
As a dedicated member of the Devine Light Order of the Eastern Star, International Masons & Eastern Star of Tallahassee, Florida, Mother Blakely exemplified the values of charity, truth, and loving-kindness. Her unwavering dedication to her church ministries at the Saint John Missionary Baptist Church was a source of inspiration to all. Her health never wavered her spirit, and she continued to serve with grace and humility, embodying the Christian virtues she held so dear.
Today, we honor Mother Beulah Mae Blakely, not with tears of sadness but with smiles of gratitude for the century of blessings she shared with us. Her legacy will continue to flourish through the lives of those she touched, and her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of her family, her church, and her community. Mother Blakely's journey on earth may have come to a rest, but her spirit soars, reminding us that love is eternal, wisdom is priceless, and faith is the key to a life well-lived. Let us carry her torch of light forward, illuminating the path for generations to come.
Funeral services will be 12 noon, Saturday, November 7, 2025, at the M. Sue & Rodney D. Pittman Memorial Chapel in Graceville, Florida with Pastor Marvin Henderson officiating.
She will be laid to rest in the St. Paul/New Bethel Cemetery in Campbellton, FL under the directions of Christian Memorial Chapel of Graceville, Florida.
