Eleanor E. Quincey
Eleanor E. Quincey, age 91, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2026, at Sturgill Hospice in Brooksville, Florida. Born on July 20, 1934, in Plant City, Florida, Eleanor's life was one of love and dedication to her family and her faith.
In 1981, Eleanor made the move to Marianna, a chapter of her life that would see her build a home filled with laughter, lessons, and enduring memories. Her professional years were spent serving the community through her work with the Social Security office, from which she would eventually retire. Yet, no job held more significance than that of being a devoted wife and mother to her family. Eleanor's faith and relationship with God was most important to her. She was a longtime member at Cottondale First Baptist Church.
Known for her adventurous spirit, Eleanor could often be found enjoying the great outdoors up until she was 81 years of age. Whether hunting, fishing, or simply basking in the beauty of nature, Eleanor embraced life's simple pleasures with an enthusiasm that was inspiring to others.
Eleanor was preceded by her late husband, Wilmer Quincey; her devoted son, Bruce Quincey, and her five dear siblings. She is survived by her cherished husband, Monroe Smith; her sons, Dennis Quincey (Karen), Dale Quincey, and Jerry Quincey (Noreen); seven grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, March 9, 2026 at Cottondale First Baptist Church with Reverend Jack Brock officiating. Interment will follow in the Cottondale Baptist Church Cemetery with Marianna Chapel Funeral Home directing.
