Doris Hall Traylor
Doris Hall Traylor
Doris Hall Traylor, 88, of Sneads, Florida passed away on November 28, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones. In her younger years, she found joy fishing and could out fish most grown men on Lake Seminole. After retiring from Florida State Hospital, she continued her lifelong dedication to helping others by serving as a caregiver to many in the community. More than anything, Doris cherished time with her family cooking, baking and sharing stories over a warm cup of coffee.
She was preceded in death by her father, Tom Hall and her mother, Edna Peacock Hall; three sons, Dale Smith, Terry Smith and Wade Smith; three brothers, Charles Hall, Wallace Hall and Bobby Hall; four sisters, Naomi Hall, Glenda Hall, Gwen Lanier and Betty Hamilton.
Doris is survived by her daughter, Tammy Traylor Barrentine and her son, Frankie Taylor; her grandchildren, Tori Barrentine Joyner, Colin Barrentine, Trey Smith and Kelli Smith; her great grandchildren, Corbin Joyner and Asher McConchie; her sister, Connie Keeter (Terry); a host of nieces and nephews and a special cousin, Barbara Matthews.
Her legacy of love, strength and kindness will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know her.
Doris’ family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to her nurse, Courtney Gramling and the compassionate staff of Vitas Hospice for the exceptional care, support and kindness shown during her final days.
A funeral service for Doris will be held on Wednesday, December 3, 2025 beginning at 2:00 PM Central Time in the chapel of McAlpin Funeral Home. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will be in Dykes Cemetery immediately following the funeral service.
