Richard Earl Hartman
Richard Earl Hartman, age 90, of Alford, Florida, passed away on May 29, 2026. He was born on December 12, 1935, in Perkasie, Pennsylvania.
Richard was a man of faith, and his beliefs were an important part of who he was throughout his life. When he was able, he sang in the church choir, sharing his voice in worship and fellowship with others.
By trade, Richard was an extremely talented machinist, and he took great pride in the work he did. He was employed by Schulmerich Carillons, where he helped craft bells. Those who knew him through his career respected his abilities and the care he brought to every task.
Richard loved the outdoors and found peace in nature. He enjoyed taking nature walks and spending time outside, where he could appreciate the beauty of the world around him. He also cherished his daily routines and the friendships they brought. Almost every morning, he could be found at Hardee’s in Cottondale before its closing, where he enjoyed fellowship with friends and shared conversation that brightened the start of his day. Twice a year, he traveled to the Pocono Mountains, where he visited with old friends and renewed the connections that meant so much to him.
He is survived by his two daughters, Lori Roberts and husband, Richard and Robin Scherr; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
No services are planned at this time. Memorialization will be by cremation. Arrangements are entrusted to the Lambe Family at Marianna Chapel Funeral Home.
