Friday night, the Alford Community Organization hosted their first Beach Blanket Bingo night.

A bear spotting in Sneads and Lovedale had the citizens with their guards up recently. It appears bears are being spotted in new places weekly, if not daily. They have long had a very clear presence in Mexico Beach where many Jackson Countians call their home away from home.

The feisty little team didn’t walk away with the district championship but they did earn a bid to play in the Darlings State Tournament scheduled to be held in Belleview. Opening ceremonies will be at a banquet Thursday, June 26 with games starting Friday, June 27.

On a beautiful Saturday, the Marianna City Farmers Market added some extra flair to their regular Farmer”s Market. The organization hosted their annual Melons in the Park event. Many local organizations and businesses set up under the Madison Park pavilion to share their items with the community.
