The Jackson County School Board received a welcome boost during last week’s board meeting when representatives from United Way of Northwest Florida presented a donation totaling $6,400 to support local students.

At last week’s Jackson County School Board workshop, board members and district officials discussed staffing vacancies, including a discrepancy in the reported number of open teaching positions. No formal action was taken.

Sneads Elementary has been named a Florida School of Excellence for its outstanding academic performance, a distinction that highlights the hard work of students, teachers, and leaders at the school.

The Jackson County School Board returned a tradition this year that has been missing since the onslaught of Covid in 2019.
