The Jackson County Board of County Commissioners honored Timothy Perry for a decade of dedicated service Tuesday at their regularly scheduled county commission meeting.

It was a happy day at the school board office Monday when the announcement was made that Jackson County had three schools that scored an A. Out of the other six schools reporting, three were a B school and three were a C school. The district maintained their B grade from the 2024 testing period.

A split Jackson County Commission voted down a motion to solicit competitive insurance proposals in a contentious 3–2 decision during Tuesday’s Jackson County Commission meeting. The proposal, labeled RFP 2425, would have invited bids for comprehensive insurance coverage for the county, including property, liability, workers’ compensation, and automobile insurance.
